We are conducting a paid research study with people taking the California bar exam in July 2023. The study will predominantly focus on the time after the exam is over, while you are waiting for your bar exam result.

The study involves:

• Completing one brief online survey before the exam.

• Three non-consecutive (schedule below) sets of five daily surveys.

• Wearing a Fitbit

• One final survey after the results are posted online

You can receive up to $100 in Amazon gift cards for participating in this study, or you can choose to keep the Fitbit and receive up to $75. Anyone over the age of 18 and taking the bar exam in California in July 2023 is eligible to participate.

Before the bar exam: Complete ONE survey (~25 mins) that will be sent via email.

During the 4-month wait for your exam result:

• July 31 - August 4: Brief daily surveys delivered via text message or email (~5 mins on average).

• September 18-22: Brief daily surveys delivered via text message or email (~5 mins on average).

• November 6-10: Brief daily surveys delivered via text message or email (~5 mins on average).

• During those weeks, we will also ask you to wear a FitBit, which we will provide and which you can optionally keep.
